How to use this layout
This is the grid gallery wall scaled up to statement size. Twenty identical 8×10 frames with 5×7 mats sit five across and four high, with about 2" between each one. The arrangement covers about 54" wide by 51" tall, large enough to anchor a big living room wall or the long wall of a dining room.
Scale is what makes it work. A single large grid reads as one piece of art from across the room, and up close it rewards a longer look at each photo. Because all twenty frames match, the shopping list stays simple: twenty 8×10 frames with 5×7 mats. Buying them as one order also keeps the frame finish and mat color identical, which matters more at this size.
Give the grid a unifying idea. A year of family photos, one photo per month plus favorites, fills it well. So do black-and-white prints, a series of botanical or architectural prints, or a single color palette. With twenty openings, a mix of subjects still works as long as the tones stay related.
Install notes
Plan the height before you hang anything. The grid is about 51" tall, so centering it at 57"–60" puts the top row around 85" off the floor. On a standard 96" ceiling that still leaves breathing room. If furniture sits below, keep the bottom row 8"–10" above it and let the center land where it falls.
Hang the bottom row (#1–#5) first and level it carefully. Every row above stacks on this one, and any tilt gets worse with each row. Then work upward a row at a time, keeping the 2" gaps consistent both across and between rows. A spacer cut to 2" speeds this up.
With twenty frames, small measuring errors add up. Mark every nail position before hanging anything, using the from-left and from-bottom values in the Hanging Guide. Painter's tape along each row's top edge is a cheap way to check the line before you commit.
