v1.9.6 - 2026-08-14
🚀 Improvements
Hanging Guide measurements are now spreadsheet-ready [Pro]: The Hanging Guide export’s measurement table now has separate Width and Height columns, a new Center column showing where each frame sits left-to-right on the wall, and plain numbers that paste cleanly into a spreadsheet. A legend under the table explains every column and states the units.
v1.9.5 - 2026-08-10
🐞 Fixes
Sharper 4K Snapshot exports [Pro]: The 4K Snapshot export now reliably reaches true high resolution, even for wide multi-wall projects. Photos and fine details look noticeably crisper when you zoom in.
v1.9.4 - 2026-07-30
🚀 Improvements
Properties panel headings match across desktop and mobile: The panel now reads “Wall Properties,” “Frame Properties,” and “Layout Zone Properties” — the same names mobile already used. Selecting one frame no longer shows a stray “(1)”; a count only appears when multiple frames are selected.
A hint on what the Properties panel does: With nothing selected, the panel now shows a hint that it’s contextual — select a frame or Layout Zone to see its properties.
🐞 Fixes
Grouped frames stay grouped after Advanced Crop: Exiting Advanced Crop on a frame that belongs to a group no longer collapses your selection to just that frame, so the whole group stays selected.
Layout Zones stay put when you resize a wall: Increasing a wall’s height no longer moves a Layout Zone toward the ceiling; it holds its distance from the floor. Shrinking a wall can no longer strand a zone off the edge.
The Properties panel stays closed when you close it: Closing the panel while a frame is selected no longer snaps it back open.
v1.9.3 - 2026-07-29
🐞 Fixes
The Add Wall button follows your theme: The ”+ Add Wall” plate on the canvas now matches light and dark mode, and shows a clear outline when you tab to it with the keyboard.
Overlapping Layout Zones blend into one clean area: Where two or more Layout Zones overlap, the shared area now reads as part of the same continuous zone — no darker patch, at any overlap depth.
Wall height changes keep your frames where you put them: Changing a wall’s height now holds every frame at the same distance from the floor. And unaltered Starter Layouts remain swappable.
v1.9.2 - 2026-07-27
🐞 Fixes
Advanced crop no longer freezes when you make another edit mid-crop: Crop adjustment now keeps working no matter what else you touch while cropping. Rotating a photo with r right when you first open a crop after loading the page also no longer gets ignored.
Right-clicking a wall acts on that wall: In multi-wall projects, right-clicking a wall makes it the active wall right away, and its Select All and Center All at Eye Level apply only to the frames actually placed on that wall — a staged frame parked off to the side is left alone.
v1.9.1 - 2026-07-21
✨ New Features
Fine-tune a crop with your keyboard: While cropping a photo or a wall texture, arrow keys now nudge it into place (hold Shift or Alt for bigger steps), +/- zoom in and out, and r rotates a framed photo a quarter turn at a time.
🚀 Improvements
Whole-project exports no longer waste space on stray frames: Exporting a Snapshot now sizes the image to your walls, so a staged frame parked way off to the side no longer shrinks everything else down to fit it in.
🐞 Fixes
Rotating a framed photo no longer creeps the zoom: In a non-square frame, rotating a photo 90° and back used to leave it a little more zoomed in each time. Rotating now always returns to the exact same framing — a full turn (or any back-and-forth) restores your original zoom.
View-only projects no longer show editing controls: Opening a project you can only view (not edit) now shows just the zoom controls — the grid, frame labels, and eye-level guide toggles no longer appear.
Left/Top blank out for selections that cross walls: Selecting frames on two different walls at once now shows blank, disabled Left/Top fields instead of a confusing position number — size stays editable.
Starter Layouts on secondary walls keep your adjustments: In multi-wall projects, applying a new Starter Layout won’t unexpectedly remove frames you’d already adjusted.
v1.9 - 2026-07-15
✨ New Features
Multi-Wall Projects [Pro]: A single project can now have more than one wall. Add, name, resize, and arrange as many walls as you want, and Pro exports cover all walls in the project.
🚀 Improvements
More readable text on custom wall objects: Exported Snapshots and Hanging Guides now show clearly readable labels and sizes on custom wall objects.
🐞 Fixes
Mobile frame placement: Tapping a frame in your library now places it exactly centered in view
v1.8.11 - 2026-07-02
🐞 Fixes
Mobile app performance: The mobile app should be much snappier, especially when zooming in.
v1.8.10 - 2026-06-26
🐞 Fixes
Custom wall backgrounds no longer clutter your Photo Library: A photo you’ve uploaded as a custom wall background (Wall Textures [Pro]) no longer appears as a thumbnail in your Photo Library next to your regular photos.
v1.8.9 - 2026-06-23
🐞 Fixes
Frame position shows the outer edge: A selected frame’s Left and Top in the Properties panel now match its outside edges.
v1.8.8 - 2026-06-22
🚀 Improvements
Wall objects show when they’re not fully on the wall: Windows, doors, TVs, and other wall objects that aren’t placed entirely on the wall now show an amber glow and “STAGED” indicator — the same cue picture frames already use.
v1.8.7 - 2026-06-20
🚀 Improvements
Better Auto Layout: The Masonry and Center Out styles now more reliably produce layout options, including for walls with just a few large frames.
v1.8.6 - 2026-06-20
✨ New Features
Included Frames selector for Auto Layout: A new selector lets you choose which frames Auto Layout arranges — Placed Only (just what’s on the wall), Placed + Staged (the new default), or all frames including your inventory.
🚀 Improvements
Clearer messages when a layout can’t be generated: When Auto Layout can’t place your frames, it now explains why — distinguishing frames that are too large for the wall from frames that won’t fit together — and points you to the right setting to adjust.
🐞 Fixes
Staged frames work in Auto Layout: Frames parked off the wall (staged) are now included in Auto Layout instead of being silently ignored, and a wall with only staged frames now generates layouts instead of coming up empty.
v1.8.5 - 2026-06-18
🚀 Improvements
Staged frames stand out on the canvas: A frame hanging off the edge of your wall now shows an amber outline and a small “STAGED” label right on the canvas, so you can spot partially-off-wall frames at a glance while arranging.
v1.8.4 - 2026-06-16
🐞 Fixes
Photos come along when you paste frames between projects: Copying frames from one project and pasting them into another now adds their photos to the destination project’s photo library, so you can reuse them on other frames there.
v1.8.3 - 2026-06-14
🚀 Improvements
Find the right tool at the right moment: GalleryPlanner now gently points you to Auto-Layout and Smart Fill as you build your wall, making the features that arrange your frames and match your photos easier to discover.
v1.8.2 - 2026-06-11
🚀 Improvements
Auto Layout: Masonry suggestions now build outward from the center of your wall or layout zone — arranging naturally around Wall Objects and locked frames instead of packing into the top-left corner — with a new Shape control (Ultra-wide, Wide, Balanced, Tall) to bias the arrangement horizontally or vertically. Place All also fills gaps nearest the existing arrangement’s center first.
v1.8.1 - 2026-06-08
🚀 Improvements
Wall Objects [Pro]: Wall objects now appear as recognizable schematic drawings — window, door, sofa, TV, vent, and more — directly on the canvas and in exports, instead of plain gray boxes.
🐞 Fixes
Wall Objects [Pro]: Controls meant for picture frames no longer apply to wall objects – matting and shape options are now disabled (custom wall objects can still be round), and Smart Fill no longer offers photo suggestions.
Smart Fill: A locked wall object is now reported as a wall object instead of a “locked frame” in the skipped-items notice.
v1.8 - 2026-06-07
✨ New Features
Wall Objects [Pro] — Map the objects on your wall — TVs, windows, shelves, furniture, and more. Drag, resize, or remove them anytime. Auto Layout arranges around them; Smart Fill ignores them.
🚀 Improvements
Smart Fill: Better face detection and more robust analysis.
Auto Layout: Suggestions stay visible after applying a layout. Several other performance and reliability improvements, including cleaner default spacing in inches.
🐞 Fixes
Photo metadata preserved on canvas drag-and-drop: Photos dragged into the app now show their resolution and aspect ratio.
v1.7.5 - 2026-06-06
🐞 Fixes
Frames no longer disappear when taken off the wall: Removing a frame via “Remove from Canvas,” applying an Auto-Layout option that uses fewer frames, or applying a saved layout now reliably returns the unused frames to your inventory instead of silently deleting them. Applying a starter layout in replace mode also keeps any frames you have staged in inventory.
v1.7.4 - 2026-05-31
🚀 Improvements
Mobile photo placement: The “tap a frame to place” hint now stays visible on the selected photo until you place or dismiss it, instead of disappearing after a couple of seconds.
🐞 Fixes
Smart Fill: Analysis now reliably finishes — the panel no longer occasionally stays stuck on “Analyze Library” instead of ”✓ Library Analyzed.” Generate Options and Auto-Fill are also disabled while analysis is running.
v1.7.3 - 2026-05-25
🐞 Fixes
Project selector and header menus: Correctly render above other UI elements.
Project recovery: Minor storage inconsistencies are now repaired automatically.
v1.7.2 - 2026-05-24
🚀 Improvements
Performance and stability improvements across mobile interactions and long sessions.
🐞 Fixes
Saved projects no longer disappear after using send-to-back.
v1.7.1 - 2026-05-23
🚀 Improvements
Export confirmations: Saving a project file, snapshot, PDF guide, or shopping list now shows a brief success toast.
🐞 Fixes
Library filters: The filter bar stays visible even when no frames match the current filter.
v1.7 - 2026-05-15
✨ New Features
Photo Level Controls — Adjust brightness, contrast, and midtone for your framed photos from the Photo properties panel (Desktop) or new Level Edit sheet (Mobile).
Auto Level [Pro] — one-click tonal optimization analyzes each photo’s visible cropped region and sets Brightness, Contrast, and Midtone for a balanced, full-range exposure
Bulk CSV Import — Download a CSV template from the Import tab, fill in your frames, then paste/upload to add frames in bulk with greater precision than before.
🚀 Improvements
Smart Fill: New “Wall photos only” option — reshuffle photos already placed on your wall without pulling in unplaced library photos.
Shopping List: Now includes Mat Color and Label columns so it can be re-imported with Bulk import.
Fit and Levels: The desktop photo panel has been reorganized to group similar controls together. On mobile, the Photo Edit menu has split in two. Fit contains crop and rotate tools, while Levels houses the brand new brightness and contrast controls.
v1.6.3 - 2026-05-09
🚀 Improvements
Sign up: Renamed to “Create Account” and is much more prominently displayed. “Sign in” remains a secondary option.
🐞 Fixes
Try Example Gallery: The app again suggests starting your own project when you start seriously working in the example project
Frame resize: Dragging to resize works the first time for frames with cropped photos.
Mobile library drag: The floating selection toolbar no longer appears while dragging a frame from the library onto the wall.
v1.6.2 - 2026-05-06
✨ New Features
Reset Crop: A new button to reset zoom to 100% and center your photo in the frame. Available in the Photo property panel or Photo Edit sheet (mobile).
🚀 Improvements
Photos fit the mat opening: Photos placed in a matted frame now fit the mat opening automatically.
Photo Zoom: Now 100% zoom is relative to the mat opening on matted frames instead of the frame itself.
Inch precision: Frame and mat dimensions in inches now display up to 3 decimal places — values like 8⅛” appear as 8.125 instead of rounding to 8.1.
Mat/border steppers: Mat opening and border stepper buttons now step by ¼” (Imperial) or 0.5 cm (Metric).
🐞 Fixes
Smart Fill: The “Generate Options” button is disabled when no frames are on the canvas, all frames are locked, or every photo is already in a locked frame.
Pan: Now disabled in the Photo properties (desktop) and Edit sheet (mobile) when you select more than one frame.
Round frame selection: Marquee selection of rounded frames now accurately detects their shape.
v1.6.1 - 2026-05-04
✨ New Features
Mobile app parity: The floating selection toolbar and drag to resize frames [Pro] are now available on the mobile app.
🚀 Improvements
Frame Library drag: On mobile, small frames are now more visible below your finger. On desktop, the library now shows a clean preview of the frame itself.
Desktop properties panel: The desktop properties panels have been tidied up. Alignment tools are now exclusively in the floating toolbar.
🐞 Fixes
Start Your Project: You can now create and name your own project from the welcome screen again.
Smart Fill: Now accurately handles locked photos.
Mobile library: Tapping Done while in Select mode now clears the active tab’s selection.
v1.6 - 2026-05-03
✨ New Features
Floating selection toolbar: A toolbar now pops up directly above your selected frame(s) on the canvas, giving one-click access to edit tools, and the new resize-mode toggle — without having to reach for the sidebar. (desktop only)
Drag to resize frames [Pro]: Select a single frame, enable resize mode from the floating toolbar, then drag any corner or edge handle to resize directly on the canvas.
Distribute frames: Select 3 or more frames and click Distribute (Horizontal or Vertical) to equalize the gaps between them.
Drag frames onto the canvas on mobile: Long-press a frame in the library to drag it exactly where you want on the canvas.
Drag photos onto frames on mobile: Long-press a photo in the library and drag it onto any frame on the canvas to place it.
Frame Labels toggle: You can now quickly hide or show labels on empty frames using the new Tag icon in the canvas control bar.
🚀 Improvements
Drag image files onto the canvas: Drop one or more image files anywhere on the canvas to import them into your library.
Tap to place photos on mobile: In the photo library, you can now also tap an unframed photo, then tap a frame on the canvas to place it.
🐞 Fixes
Import to Library: Importing multiple frames from a text paste or file upload now undoes as a single step.
Library delete: Deleting a library row now removes all frames in that stack, not just one.
Mobile pinch zoom: Releasing fingers one at a time after a pinch no longer triggers an unintended tap.
Locked frames: Photos on locked frames stay put, instead of being easily replaced.
v1.5.7 - 2026-05-02
🚀 Improvements
Frame import: Dimension separator × now parsed correctly on bulk import, and the Height × Width toggle is more clearly labeled as a non-default option.
Frame import: Extra text around dimensions is now ignored, so lines like Extra Large - 16 x 20 matted to 11 x 14 parse correctly.
v1.5.6 - 2026-05-01
🐞 Fixes
Clear Canvas: Now returns frames to inventory instead of deleting them.
Snapshots: Frames without photos now show the correct dimensions in snapshots.
v1.5.5 - 2026-04-30
🚀 Improvements
Mobile performance: Performance of the mobile app should be improved, especially on older devices.
🐞 Fixes
Undo/Redo: Color picks, stepper clicks, and slider drags each produce a single undo step, and Undo/Redo behavior is more stable and consistent on desktop.
v1.5.4 - 2026-04-25
🚀 Improvements
Place all from library: Using the “Place all from library” button no longer rearranges existing frames on the wall. Instead, it fills available wall space with your remaining inventory frames, staging extra frames only when wall space truly runs out.
🐞 Fixes
Frame library syncs with wall: Changing a frame on the canvas now updates its library entry. (Resolves the Known Issue noted in v1.5.3.)
v1.5.3 - 2026-04-24
✨ New Features
Mobile Photo Library tap: Tapping a placed photo in the library jumps to the frame it’s in. Continue to tap with a frame selected on the wall to place photos.
🚀 Improvements
Mobile Add Custom Frame: Adding a custom frame in the mobile app now supports frame color, mat color, mat opening size, and an optional label.
🐞 Fixes
Frame labels: Same-size frames with different labels no longer collapse into a single frame entry in the library.
Mobile custom frames: Adding a custom frame straight to the wall on mobile now also creates the matching library entry.
Frame isolation: Labeling or resizing a frame on the wall now only updates that frame — other frames that were the same size are unaffected.
⚠️ Known Issues
Library entries can get out of sync with placed frames: The library and placed frames don’t always agree. Changing a frame’s color, border, or shape on the wall updates the library entry — so future frames from that entry inherit those changes. Changing a frame’s label or size on the wall does not update the library entry — so the library continues to show the original values. A full fix is planned.
v1.5.2 - 2026-04-24
✨ New Features
Show on wall: Right-click a photo in the Photo Library and choose “Show on wall” to snap the canvas to the frame (or frames) where it lives.
🐞 Fixes
Frame Defaults apply everywhere: Frame Defaults (color, border, mat) now apply to all frames you add.
Cleaner B&W conversion [Pro]: The B&W Photo Toggle should be less washed out now.
v1.5.1 - 2026-04-22
✨ New Features
Duplicate Project [Pro]: Quickly make a copy of your current project — every frame, photo, and wall setting carries over without re-uploading anything. A brief success toast confirms the duplicate.
🚀 Improvements
New Project: “New Project” now also lives at the top of the Project menu.
Cleaner Project menu names: “Save Project” → Export Project and “Open Project” → Import Project, reflecting that these actions create or restore a portable .gwall file on your device.
Clear Canvas: Clear Canvas (formerly “Clear the Wall”) now lives at the bottom of the Wall Settings panel in the right sidebar and the label better reflects its behavior.
v1.5.0 - 2026-04-20
✨ New Features
Whole-Wall Balance [Pro]: Enable Whole-Wall Balance in Smart Fill to distribute brightness, warm/cool tones, and portraits evenly across the wall. Click any Smart Fill option’s score to see details.
Wall Textures [Pro]: Choose from 16 stock textures (brick, wood, shiplap, limewash, and more) or upload your own room photo as a custom background. Free users get access to 4 essential textures.
B&W Photo Toggle [Pro]: Convert any photo to black and white right in the app.
🚀 Improvements
Smart Fill scoring: Smart Fill option scores now display as a 0–100 average per frame.
Snapshots show your full wall: Standard and 4K snapshot exports now capture the whole wall — background, wall texture, and frame placement in context.
Faster app start and canvas interactions: The app starts faster and canvas clicks, drags, and right-clicks feel more responsive on projects with lots of frames.
🐞 Fixes
Frame labels no longer overflow short/wide frames: Dimension labels on extreme-aspect-ratio frames now scale to fit the frame’s shorter dimension.
Mat dimensions stay valid when resizing frames: Shrinking a matted frame below its mat opening now clamps the mat to fit instead of leaving invalid stored dimensions.
Crop upgrade prompt doesn’t repeat on double-click: For free users, the Pro upgrade modal for Crop now fires once per tab session; subsequent double-clicks show a small toast instead.
v1.4.7 - 2026-04-15
🚀 Improvements
Cleaner labels throughout: Menu items, export options, and help content use cleaner, more consistent names across the app.
v1.4.6 - 2026-04-12
✨ New Features
Bulk project backup [Pro]: Back up all your projects at once or restore a whole collection in one go. Open the Project menu and choose Export All Projects to save everything to a folder, or Import Projects from Folder to bring them back.
Backup reminder: A new notice reminds you that your projects are saved locally on this device. Pro users get a direct Back Up Projects button; Free users get Save Project (.gwall). Check “Show less often” to reduce it to once a week — or just back up and it won’t show again for a while.
UPDATE badge: A persistent badge appears next to the logo when an app update is waiting. Click it to refresh immediately.
🚀 Improvements
The app updates itself automatically when idle: If an update is available and you haven’t interacted in a while, it safely updates in the background.
Pro purchases are more reliably detected: Pro status now syncs across tabs and refreshes automatically when you return to the app after a while.
🐞 Fixes
Loading projects is more reliable: Some project files that previously failed to open now load correctly.
v1.4.5 - 2026-04-11
✨ New Features
Tidier frame sidebar: The frame creation tools (Common Sizes, Custom Sizes, Import, and Starter Layouts) now live behind an Add Frame button instead of taking up space above your library. Click the pin icon to keep the Add Frame popover open while you work.
🚀 Improvements
Cleaner Settings layout: Tidied up the settings menu.
Taller default wall: New projects start at 8 feet (96 inches) tall.
v1.4.4 - 2026-04-09
✨ New Features
Rotate frames with R: Press R to swap a frame’s width and height, or use the new “Rotate Frame” option in the right-click menu.
Shift-drag inverts snap: Hold Shift while dragging a frame to temporarily flip your Snap-to-Grid setting — snap when it’s off, free-move when it’s on.
Medium nudge: Press Option/Alt + Arrow to nudge frames 5px at a time, between the 1px fine nudge and the 10px Shift + Arrow coarse nudge.
🚀 Improvements
Cleaner project management: Free accounts keep one project to edit and one to reference. Importing a new file when both slots are full lets you swap or upgrade.
Sign-in prompt when loading files: If you were previously signed in with Pro, you’ll be prompted to sign back in before hitting any project limits.
🐞 Fixes
Locked frames stay locked: Rotate, layer changes, and other edit actions now consistently respect frame locks across all surfaces.
v1.4.3 - 2026-04-08
🐞 Fixes
Auto-Layout and Smart Fill results survive page refreshes: Generated layout options and photo-match suggestions no longer disappear when the page reloads, whether from sign-in, an app update, or a manual refresh.
Upgrade modal restores after sign-in: If you were mid-upgrade when prompted to sign in, the upgrade modal reopens when you return.
v1.4.2 - 2026-04-06
🚀 Improvements
Cleaner canvas grid on dark walls: If you change your wall color to a dark shade (like navy or black), the canvas grid lines now automatically switch to a lighter color so they stay easy to see.
Clearer view controls: The ‘Show Grid’ and ‘Snap to Grid’ text buttons on the canvas toolbar have been replaced with intuitive icons.
Smarter staircase measurements in PDF: The Hanging Guide now calculates the “From Bottom” measurement off the sloped edge of a staircase wall, rather than the flat floor.
Staircase schematics look better: The background grid on the Hanging Guide PDF now cleanly clips to the shape of your staircase wall.
Detailed ceiling measurements: A brand new “Top” column has been added to the Hanging Guide table, so you always know exactly how far down from the ceiling to measure.
Fewer overlapping labels: Dimension labels in tight corners on the PDF schematic now stagger neatly to avoid unreadable overlapping text.
v1.4.1 - 2026-04-05
✨ New Features
Eye-level guide: A dashed reference line shows your configured eye level on the canvas, with a toggle button next to the grid controls. The line adapts to your wall color so it stays visible on light and dark backgrounds.
Customizable eye level: Set your preferred eye level in Settings — alignment tools and the printed hanging guide both use it instead of the old fixed 60-inch rule.
🚀 Improvements
Settings show units: Dimension inputs in Settings now display the active unit (in/cm) so you always know what you’re entering.
Hanging guide matches your eye level: The printed PDF guide now shows your configured eye level instead of a fixed “58–60 in” label.
Layout Zones Color: Layout Zones now adapt to your wall color so they stay visible on light and dark backgrounds.
🐞 Fixes
Layout zone dragging works on desktop: Dragging a selected layout zone by its interior now moves it as expected.
Metric border widths display cleanly: Default border width values no longer show awkward decimal conversions when switching between imperial and metric.
v1.4.0 - 2026-04-04
✨ New Features
Layout Zones [Pro]: Tell Auto-Layout exactly where you want your frames to be. Add one or more zones to the wall and Auto-Layout will place frames inside those zones.
Advanced Crop [Pro]: A new visual cropping UI lets you drag, zoom, and reposition photos directly inside their frames with greater precision.
Hanging Guide PDF v2 [Pro]: The printable hanging guide now includes a measurement schematic on graph paper with labeled dimensions.
Pro Feature Spotlights: New feature-specific screenshot previews show exactly what each Pro tool offers before upgrading to Pro.
🚀 Improvements
Cleaner crop controls: Photo zoom and pan controls now feel more predictable, with better limits and clearer units.
🐞 Fixes
Improved snapshots: Rounded frames and matted frames now export correctly in standard and 4K snapshots. Staircase wall exports no longer leave a black clipped area in image exports.
More reliable property editing: Text and number fields in the properties panels now behave more predictably when typing, pressing Enter, or canceling with Escape.
v1.3.4 - 2026-03-31
✨ New Features
Smarter touch gestures on mobile: Moving a frame and opening its menu now feel more deliberate and less accidental — hold briefly to pick up, hold longer on a selected frame for the menu.
🚀 Improvements
More natural touch controls on mobile: Pinching to zoom now feels much more like the standard iPhone and iPad experience, so you can pan and zoom in one continuous gesture.
🐞 Fixes
Cleaner mobile frame context menu: Removed the redundant Select… from the frame context menu on mobile.
v1.3.3 - 2026-03-30
🚀 Improvements
Context menu acts on your full selection: Bring to Front, Send to Back, Rotate Photo, Remove Photo, Lock, and Delete now apply to every selected frame, not just the one you right-clicked.
Improved group locking: Locking a grouped frame now locks the entire group, and grouping mixed locked/unlocked frames prompts you to resolve the conflict first.
Mixed-lock indicator: The properties panel and mobile edit sheet now show when your selection includes both locked and unlocked frames.
Smarter Smart Fill: Auto-Fill can now analyze photos when needed, and newly imported photos are automatically analyzed after you’ve started using Smart Fill.
🐞 Fixes
Clearer feedback: Auto-Fill now tells you when there isn’t another photo available instead of doing nothing silently.
v1.3.2 - 2026-03-28
✨ New Features
More helpful mobile editing tools: You can now align selected frames more quickly on mobile with a compact align control, and the editor keeps the canvas available while you work.
Faster mobile multi-select: A new Select Multiple shortcut opens a mobile selection bar, and you can now Group or Ungroup frames without detouring into the Edit Sheet.
🚀 Improvements
Hanging Guide preview is easier to judge: The preview is no longer blurred and shows the first three frames in the table clearly.
Cleaner mobile export menu: Share menu actions match the desktop export menu more closely.
Print-friendly browser output: Printing from the browser now hides the app UI, so the wall and frames are the focus of the page.
🐞 Fixes
Smoother touch editing: Frame drag on mobile is more responsive, and tapping the canvas while editing now behaves more predictably.
Update prompts stay tidy: Refresh-to-update toasts no longer stack on top of each other.
v1.3.1 - 2026-03-26
🚀 Improvements
More reliable frame and library updates: Fixed cases where frame positions, photos, or library counts could appear out of sync after editing.
More reliable app installs: Installing GalleryPlanner on your device now succeeds even if a non-essential resource is temporarily unavailable.
Cleaner scrollbars and high-contrast support on Windows: Scrollbars are slimmer and better matched to the app theme, and Windows High Contrast Mode keeps the wall and frames clearly distinguishable.
v1.3.0 - 2026-03-25
✨ New Features
Dark mode: Switch GalleryPlanner between Light, Dark, and System themes. Your chosen wall color on the canvas stays exactly as you set it.
Frame grouping: Lock frames together so clustered arrangements move, copy, and align as one piece. Ungroup anytime.
Manual save mode: Turn off auto-save in Settings to control exactly when your project is saved. A clear unsaved-changes indicator appears in the header, and you’ll be warned before switching projects or closing the tab with unsaved work.
App-wide Settings: A dedicated Settings panel for units, frame defaults, theme, auto-save behavior, delete confirmation, and clearing local app data.
Smarter frame library: Identical frames now stack together in My Library with clear counts showing how many are placed, staged, or still available.
Pro 4K Ultra-HD Snapshots: Pro users can export crystal-clear 4K lossless PNG snapshots without watermarks. Free users continue to enjoy standard-resolution JPG exports.
🚀 Improvements
Find frames from the library: Click or tap a placed or staged library row to instantly select all matching frames on the canvas.
Hanging Guide preview: Before upgrading, free users can now preview a blurred first-page teaser of the Hanging Guide instead of hitting a blank paywall.
Better staircase Auto-Layout: Layout thumbnails now reflect your staircase wall shape, and all strategies place frames more densely along the slope.
Your workspace remembers you: Sidebar sections, zoom level, and panel choices now survive page refreshes.
Optional delete confirmation: Want a safety net before removing frames? Turn on delete confirmation in Settings. Undo still works either way.
🐞 Fixes
Cleaner library after applying Starter Layouts: Repeated frame sizes from starter layouts now group together instead of cluttering your library.
Smoother zoom controls: The zoom HUD buttons and scroll-wheel zoom now do a better job keeping your viewport centered while you zoom.
v1.2.5 - 2026-03-22
🚀 Improvements
Project backups load faster and show clearer progress: Loading a .gwall backup now gets you back into your project sooner, with visible progress while photos and project data are restored.
🐞 Fixes
iPhone and iPad project backups save more reliably: Save Project (.gwall) now works more reliably with larger mobile photo libraries and gives clearer guidance when a backup is getting too large to save safely.
Photo sorting is back to normal: The Photos library now shows Newest and Oldest in the correct order again.
v1.2.4 - 2026-03-20
✨ New Features
Jump from Learn guides straight into the right tool: Guide pages now open GalleryPlanner directly into Frames, Photos, Auto-Layout, or Smart Fill depending on what the article is about.
🚀 Improvements
Cleaner desktop and mobile controls: Header actions, project menus, and number inputs are more accessible and easier to use with keyboard and touch.
Cropped photo ZIP export no longer blocks the editor: Standalone ZIP exports now run in the background with progress feedback, so you can keep working while files prepare.
Faster mobile frame moves: On touch devices, you can start dragging a frame with one finger more directly instead of pre-selecting it first.
More reliable mobile pan and pinch gestures: Two-finger movement does a better job staying in pan mode unless you intentionally pinch to zoom.
v1.2.2 - 2026-03-16
🚀 Improvements
Faster first load: GalleryPlanner now loads faster on the landing page, especially on mobile.
Returning sessions pick up the newest version more smoothly: Reopening the app now does a better job of getting you onto the latest version automatically.
A smoother first project start: Opening the app now guides you into starting your own project first, with the example gallery still available if you want it.
🐞 Fixes
Smoother app startup: Reduced distracting UI flicker when returning to the app.
v1.2.1 - 2026-03-15
✨ New Features
Install GalleryPlanner on your device: You can now add GalleryPlanner to your Home Screen or install it as an app on supported browsers for quicker access.
🚀 Improvements
Faster editing: Moving frames, updating settings, and working in the editor should feel smoother and more responsive.
Clearer Save/Load on iPhone and iPad: GalleryPlanner now better explains how .gwall project files appear in Files and share sheets, and how to load them back in later.
Better project-file labeling: Saved .gwall files now identify themselves more clearly as GalleryPlanner project files when your browser supports it.
Refined mobile app experience: The control dock, bottom sheets, install guidance, and selection feedback all feel clearer and more comfortable to use on mobile.
More consistent mobile sheets: Library, Smart, Edit, Share, and Menu now close more predictably with matching close controls and swipe behavior.
Auto-Layout results stick around on mobile: Closing and reopening the Smart sheet no longer loses your generated layout options.
New and refreshed guide videos: Several Learn guides now include updated explainer videos, with new walkthroughs for Pro, Smart Fill, staircase layouts, and Frame TV gallery walls.
🐞 Fixes
Shopping lists now group rotatable frame sizes together: Frame Shopping List exports now treat 8x10 and 10x8 as the same frame size instead of splitting them into separate lines.
iPhone photos work again: Adding iPhone .heic and .heif format photos to the app no longer produces empty images.
v1.2.0 - 2026-03-14
✨ New Features
Mat color controls: Matted frames now support white, black, and custom mat colors on desktop and mobile, and those choices stay with your saved project and library items.
Staged vs placed frames: Frames outside the wall now stay on the canvas as staged items, while frames on the wall are treated as placed. This keeps planning and export tools focused on your installed layout without losing overflow frames.
Place all from library: On desktop and mobile, you can now place your whole library at once. GalleryPlanner fits as many frames as it can on the wall, then stages the overflow neatly below it.
Expanded Starter Layouts: Added eight new Pinterest-inspired Starter Layouts with more living-room, sofa, and console-style arrangements.
🚀 Improvements
Save/Load (.gwall) is now free: Saving and loading .gwall backups is now available on desktop and mobile without Pro, making it easier to keep a durable copy of your work.
Clearer local-save guidance: GalleryPlanner now does a better job explaining that projects live in this browser, when it’s smart to save a backup, and why iPhone/iPad users should keep important projects in Files or iCloud.
Smarter on-wall planning tools: Auto-Layout, Smart Fill, Hanging Guide exports, and installed-layout captures now work more cleanly with the new staged-vs-placed workflow.
🐞 Fixes
Better recovery when screens fail to load: Help, Learn, About, and app routes now give you clear retry, reload, and back actions if a screen fails to load or you go offline.
More reliable undo history: Undo and redo are more dependable during rapid edits and stay more stable when browser session storage is under pressure.
Cleaner layout results: Auto-Layout and Place all from library now handle placed vs staged inventory more reliably and preserve organic layouts more consistently.
More dependable editing controls: Property-panel adjustments, wall-size steppers, and canvas drag interactions behave more reliably during fast edits.
v1.1.3 - 2026-03-10
🚀 Improvements
Clearer desktop frame workflow: Adding a frame on desktop now makes it much clearer that the frame goes into My Library first, and then needs to be dragged onto the wall to place it.
🐞 Fixes
Safer project imports: .gwall imports now catch more invalid or incomplete files before they can create broken project state.
Better save reliability warnings: If your browser can’t save reliably, GalleryPlanner now tells you clearly instead of failing silently.
v1.1.2 - 2026-03-09
✨ New Features
Refresh prompt after new deployments: If a newer GalleryPlanner build goes live while you still have the app open, the app now prompts you to refresh so you can keep working on the latest version.
🚀 Improvements
Smoother dialog behavior: Popups and dialogs now feel more predictable when you open and close them.
Desktop browser guidance: On non-Chromium desktop browsers, the app now suggests Chrome for faster performance.
v1.1.1 - 2026-03-08
✨ New Features
Easier Pro recovery after sign-out: If this browser previously used account-linked Pro, GalleryPlanner now offers a quick sign-in prompt so you can restore access more easily.
Dedicated Pro support contact in-app: Pro users can reach support directly from the app.
🚀 Improvements
Cleaner export actions across desktop and mobile: Export options are easier to scan on both surfaces.
Export Bundle naming: The multi-file Pro export flow is now labeled Export Bundle.
Sharper Pro indicators: Pro-only actions now use lock and unlock icons instead of repeated Pro pills.
Clearer free vs Pro messaging after sign-in: Signed-in free accounts now see a lightweight reminder when a feature requires Pro.
Clearer Pro Pass purchase and activation flow: After buying a Pro Pass, the app now updates purchase status more clearly and makes activation easier to understand on mobile and desktop.
🐞 Fixes
Smoother desktop menu behavior: Menu interactions are more reliable when moving between controls.
Better mobile Safari reliability: Fixed a Safari-specific issue that could cause problems on some iPhones and iPads.
More reliable Pro Pass status updates: Fixed cases where a purchased Pro Pass or upgrade messaging did not refresh correctly in-app.

🚀 Improvements
Free plan expansion: Free now includes Smart Fill, Auto-Layout, Starter Layouts, staircase walls, and round/oval frame shapes.
Mobile editing polish: Multi-select on the canvas is available via Select… in the context menu. Long-press in the Library sheet enters manage mode for bulk selection and deletion. Improved text-import preview flows.
Placed vs selected visual clarity: Placed frames now use a green indicator; used photos are subtly dimmed. Selected items have a bold blue border overlay that no longer gets clipped in masonry layouts.
Input controls: Added stepper controls for wall, frame, and custom size inputs.
Export resilience: Improved bundle export handling so one failed export no longer blocks the rest.
Easier navigation and feedback: Menus, walkthrough progress, and view-only project status are clearer and easier to follow.
Clearer starter vs generated flows: Renamed template entry points to Starter Layouts so they are easier to distinguish from Auto-Layout results.
🐞 Fixes

🐞 Fixes
Auto-Layout spacing + margin: Auto-Layout now correctly allows 0 spacing and 0 margin values.

🚀 Improvements
Smarter Auto-Layout: Layout suggestions stay cleaner and more relevant while you work.
More reliable editing and saving: Wall sizing and project-saving behavior are smoother, especially on mobile.
General speed and stability improvements: Photo imports and project handling feel more dependable overall.
Open Source credits page: Added a public Open Source Notices page in the site footer for third-party software and asset credits.
Clearer policy pages: Privacy Policy and Terms wording is easier to read.

✨ New Features

Smart Fill V2.0: Smart Fill now provides multiple recommendations for the entire wall instead of a single “Lucky” button.
