Wall Setup

Start every project by defining the wall you're working with. Accurate dimensions ensure your on-screen layout maps to the real world.

  • Dimensions & UnitsEnter your wall width and height in inches or centimeters. Switch between imperial and metric at any time — the unit system is saved per project. Walls can be up to 50 ft (15 m) per side.
  • Wall TypesChoose Flat for a standard wall, or Staircase (Ascending / Descending) for angled walls above a stairway. Set the Rise (%) to match your measured slope.
  • Wall ObjectsProPut the real features of your wall on the canvas: Window, Door, Fireplace, TV, Light switch, Thermostat, Sconce, Shelf, Vent, Headboard, and Sofa presets, plus a Custom size for anything else. On desktop, open the Frames panel and click Add Frame → Objects; on mobile, tap Library → + Object. Wall Objects draw as simple schematics on the canvas and in your exports, and they stay movable — but Auto-Layout and Smart Fill treat them as obstacles.
  • Wall ColorSet the background color to match your actual wall paint. This helps you preview how frames and photos will look in context.
  • Add WallProOne wall doesn't have to be the whole plan. Click the + Add Wall button next to your wall on the canvas — or right-click the empty workspace (press and hold on mobile) and choose Add Wall — to add another wall to the same project. Walls line up side by side with a shared floor line: drag a wall's label to reorder, rename it in Wall Settings, and deleting a wall returns its frames to your inventory with their photos intact.
  • Wall TexturesGo beyond flat paint — preview your gallery on brick, shiplap, wood paneling, or even a furnished room scene, or upload a photo of your actual wall. With nothing selected, use the Wall Texture control in the Properties panel on desktop (or right-click the wall), or open the Edit sheet on mobile and scroll to Wall Texture. A starter set of textures is free; the full Premium Wall Textures collection and custom photos are Pro.
